Chinese Consul General to Chicago Zhao Weiping met with Deborah Rutter, President of Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) on March 6, 2013. Vice President of the orchestra Vanessa Moss attended the meeting.

Consul General Zhao congratulated President Rutter on the orchestra's successful Asia Tour 2013 last February, and its China tour in particular. Rutter said it was the second tour in China since 2009, during which they were deeply impressed by Chinese audience's enthusiasm for classic music. And she was looking forward to further exchange and cooperation with China. Consul General Zhao expressed the Chinese Consulate General's willingness to assist the CSO in promoting its exchanges with China.
