Hon. Deron Kintner, Deputy Mayor of the City of Indianapolis,
Dr. Eugene Inman, Vice President at Eli Lilly and Company,
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,

On the behalf of the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations on the opening of the 6th Indianapolis Chinese Festival.

It is my great pleasure to join you at this wonderful event in celebrating Chinese culture and heritage.

It is a very exciting day for the local Chinese community and I share their joys.

I believe it is also an exciting day for the whole city of Indianapolis.

This Festival really means much more than just a showcase and celebration of Chinese culture.

It means the great efforts of the Municipal Government of Indianapolis in promoting a multicultural society and its strong support to the development of the local Chinese community.

It means the harmonious relationship between the Chinese community and other communities who live together in this great city of Indianapolis and support each other.

It also means the ever-growing link between China and the city of Indianapolis and the great potential in deepening their partnership.

I commend the Municipal Government of Indianapolis for hosting this wonderful event and all the relevant organizations for their contribution in making it possible.

I am proud of all the achievements the Chinese community has made over the years and I believe they will contribute more to the harmony and prosperity of Indianapolis in future.

Thank you.
