On June 22, Chinese Consul General to Chicago Zhao Weiping attended the Opening Ceremony of Field Museum's Cyrus Tang Hall of China, along with Chicago Vice Mayor Steve Koch, President Lariviere of the Field Museum, Mr. Cyrus Tang and his family as well as about 500 guests from the local communities. 

Consul General Zhao congratulated the Field Museum on the opening of Cyrus Tang Hall of China, and expressed his belief that this newly established hall will provide an important window for the people of Chicago to know more about China's history and culture as the cultural ties between China and Chicago have become closer in recent years. He also expressed his appreciations to Mr. Cyrus Tang for his consistent effort in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and American peoples.
