Consul General Hong Lei Visits U.S. Senator Gary Peters' District Office

On August 30, Consul General Hong Lei visited U.S. Senator Gary Peters’ district office in Detroit, Michigan and met with District Director Elise Lancaster.

Consul General Hong Lei briefed Director Lancaster on China-Michigan cooperation and exchanges in the fields such as economy, trade, culture and education and the development of China-US relations. He said that China-US relations are one of the most important bilateral relations in the world and the two countries have common interests in a wide range of areas. China-US cooperation will not only benefit the two peoples but also promote world peace and prosperity. The Consulate General would like to join hands with Senator Peters and his district office to promote friendly cooperation between China and Michigan as well as the development of China-US relations.

Ms. Lancaster said that Senator Peters attaches importance to US-China relations and supports the two sides to conduct further cooperation in economy, trade and other fields. The district office is willing to maintain close communication with the Consulate General to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between US and Chinese enterprises.
