Consul General Hong Lei Visits U.S. Congresswoman Susan Brooks' District Office
2016-09-16 00:06

On August 31, Consul General Hong Lei visited U.S. Congresswoman Susan Brooks’ district office in Carmel, Indiana and met with Chief of Staff Megan Savage.

Consul General Hong Lei said that in recent years, China-Indiana friendly relations maintained a good momentum. China is not only Indiana's third largest trading partner but also an important market for Indiana enterprises such as Eli Lilly and Cummins. Meanwhile, Indiana has become an investment destination for more and more Chinese companies. At present, the Chinese Government is deepening reform and expanding opening-up, which opens broad prospects for the two sides to cooperate in a wider range of areas. The Chinese side hopes that Congresswoman Brooks would continue her interest and support to the development of China-US relations.

Ms. Savage said that Congresswoman Brooks pays close attention to US-China relations and supports Indiana to expand cooperation with China. The district office will stay in touch with the Consulate General.

Deputy Consul General Yu Peng was present at the meeting.
