Consul General Hong Lei met with Governor of Iowa Reynolds

On the evening of October 18, Consul General Hong Lei attended the reception held by Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa in honor of World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogue 2017 and talked with Governor Reynolds on expanding cooperation and exchanges between China and Iowa.

Consul General Hong Lei congratulated Governor Reynolds on her successful visit to China and said that soon after taking office, Governor Reynolds visited China where she met with leaders of various provinces, cities and ministries, demonstrating Iowa’s commitment to further cooperation with China and friendship between the two sides. The Consulate General would like to work with the Iowa state government to further implement the consensus between the two sides and promote cooperation in various fields.

Governor Reynolds said that the Iowa delegation received warm welcome and hospitality in China. Several provincial and municipal leaders, as well as ministry heads met with the delegation, making this visit a great success. She thanked the Consulate General for supporting the cooperation and exchanges between Iowa and China and said that the state government will keep in touch with the Consulate General and work together to deepen bilateral ties.
