Consul General Hong Lei Attended 36th Annual Dinner of Chinese Community Association in Chicago

On November 15, Consul General Hong Lei attended Chicago Chinese Community Association’s (CMAA) 36th annual dinner held at the Theater on the Lake in Chicago. Deputy Consul General Yu Peng, State Representative Theresa Mah, representatives from community service organizations and more than 300 people attended the event.

Consul General Hong Lei extended warm congratulations to Yman Huang Vien, the Honorary President of CMAA, and Duc Huang, the Founding President of CMAA, on the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Community Association. Consul General Hong Lei expressed appreciation for CMAA’s long-term effort and commitment to serving the Asian communities, including Chinese Americans. Consul General Hong also praised CMAA’s achievements, reiterating that the Consulate General is willing to work with the CMAA to actively serve the Chinese community.

Founded in 1981, CMAA has endeavored to improve the welfare of Asian Americans, including Chinese Americans in Chicago, and help them better integrate into American society.
