Deputy Consul General Liu Jun Visited District Offices of Senators and Congress Representatives in Missouri
2017-12-06 05:09

From December 5 to 6, Deputy Consul General Liu Jun visited the district offices of Senator Clair McCaskill, Senator Roy Blunt, Congresswoman Ann Wagner and Congressman Billy Long and met with Deputy District Director Brendan Fahey, District Director Mary Beth Luna Wolf, District Director Miriam Stonebraker, and District Director Royce Reding respectively.

Deputy Consul General Liu Jun said that the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in October, marking a milestone in Chinese history and outlining a blueprint and action plan for China’s future development. Last month, President Trump made his first state visit to China. President Xi Jinping and President Trump reached a number of important consensuses on the development of China-U.S. Relations in the new era. Business leaders from both countries signed major commercial contracts worth of 250 billion U.S. dollars, which is of great significance to the stable advancement of China-U.S. economic and trade ties in the new era. Governor Greitens also made a successful visit to China in last September. We have every reason to believe that the bilateral relations between China and the United States and the relations between China and Missouri will continue to grow and achieve new and greater development, and bring more benefits to the two peoples. We hope that Senators and Congress Representatives will lend their support to the development of Sino-U.S. Relations and work together to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations in all areas.

Deputy District Director Brendan Fahey, District Director Mary Beth Luna Wolf, District Director Miriam Stonebraker, and District Director Royce Reding stated that the Senators and Representatives attach great importance to the development of U.S.-China ties. They are looking forward to cooperation with China in all areas that would bring tangible benefits to the people of Missouri. And the District Offices will maintain close communication with Chinese Consulate General in Chicago to this end.
