Acting Consul General Liu Jun Attended Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office-New York Branch Spring Festival Reception in Chicago

On February 21st, Acting Consul General Liu Jun was invited to attend the Spring Festival Reception held by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office-New York Branch in Chicago. Branch Office Director Zhu Ruiwen, Midwest Representative Zhang Weicong of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, President Mark Staublin of the Hong Kong Business Association of the Midwest, and over 100 people from all over the Midwest were in attendance.

Acting Consul General Liu Jun shared with those in attendance, “The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) has been named the world's freest economy for 25 consecutive years, reflecting the tremendous vitality of its market. The opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge last year marked further development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong of the future awaits investors from all over the globe with an ever greater platform of opportunities. The Hong Kong SAR, with support from China’s central government, is undeniably heading towards a brighter tomorrow.” With these closing remarks, Acting Consul General Liu Jun, along with Director Zhu and other special guests, made a grand toast to all and wished everyone a happy New Year, continued success, and financial prosperity.

A group of 10 Hong Kong squash players currently participating in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Championships in Chicago also attended the reception.

The event also exhibited a dazzling lion dance performance.
