The 3rd Chinese Short Video Competition: My story with China

The Consulate General of The People's Republic of China in Chicago would like to invite American friends from Mid-Western U.S. especially the young people to participate in the 3rd Chinese Short Video Competition featuring US-China Engagement and Friendship in Youth’s Eyes. All participants are welcome to submit a short video on themes such as the future of US-China relations in your eyes, youth exchanges between the two countries, the touching stories of your own or families and friends with China. The language of the short video should be Chinese.

I. Schedule

Time for submission: November 1 to November 20, 2023

Time for evaluation: November 21 to November 30, 2023

Announcement of results on Twitter @ChinaConsulateChicago: December 4, 2023

Award distribution: After December 5, 2022

II. Participants

Residents in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana and Colorado, especially the K-12 and university students.

III. Video Format

The short video should be no less than 5 minutes. The resolution of the videos should be no less than 1280×720, and the format should be MP4, recorded in landscape mode.

IV. Awards Setting

There will be 10 Best Chinese Speaker Awards and 10 Outstanding Video Awards.  

All Participants who have submitted a video with satisfactory quality will receive a souvenir.  

The results of the competition will be announced on December 4, 2023 on Twitter @ChinaConsulateChicago as well as on the official website of the Consulate. The awarded videos would be displayed on twitter and other media platforms operated or recommended by the Consulate.

V. Submission

The participants should complete the attached registration form, sign the authorization agreement, scan both files into PDF format, and send them together with the video in a compressed file to Chinesevideocompetition@gmail.com. 

Ⅵ. Others

The Consulate reserves the right of final interpretation of this competition.
