2011-11-23 02:35

On November 18, Consul General Yang Guoqiang met with the Illinois State Legislators delegation led by State Treasurer Dan Rutherford. The delegation paid a two-week visit to Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Lhasa and Guangzhou in last August.

During the visit, they were accorded warm hospitality from the local governments and gained a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China through a series of meeting, discussions and field visits, Rutherford said. He also expressed confidence and optimism for future cooperation between Illinois and China, and was committed to promoting cooperative and win-win relations between the two sides.

Consul General Yang congratulated the delegation on their successful visit which he believed will bring more impetus into the existing two-way cooperation between China and Illinois. By citing huge markets, mutual complementarity and expanding mutual interests, he looked forward to more substantive cooperation and fruitful outcome through joint efforts by the two sides.
