On January 26, Consul General Wang Baodong attended the 2025 Greater Chicago Area Chinese Community Chinese New Year Celebration Gala, jointly organized by the Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago（CAAGC） and the Association of Chinese-American Scientists and Engineers (ASCE). Congressmen Danny Davis，Bill Foster，Raja Krishnamoorthi, Deputy Governor Grace Hou-Ovnik，Illinois State Representative Theresa Mah and other dignitaries, as well as leaders and representatives of major Chinese associations in Chicago attended the event.

In his remarks, Consul General Wang introduced the achievements of Chinese modernization development, the latest developments of China-U.S. relations, including the phone conversation held between the two Heads of States. Wang hoped that the overseas Chinese communities and compatriots in the Midwestern United States would continue to play the role of bridges and links, firmly support the great cause of peaceful reunification of the motherland and the great cause of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and make new contributions to enhancing the friendship between Chinese and American peoples and promoting exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the Midwestern United States and China.

At the gala, local Chinese culture and art groups in Chicago and artists specially invited from China staged wonderful cultural performances, presenting a splendid cultural feast to the audience.
