The consular district of the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago covers 11 states in the Midwest of the United States, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. These states enjoy fruitful economic and trade cooperation, as well as frequent educational and cultural exchanges with China. There is a big number of Chinese citizens and overseas Chinese living and working in the consular district, and many Chinese students are studying for further education here.

At present, China is further deepening reform comprehensively, promoting high-standard opening up, pursuing high-quality development and striving to advance Chinese modernization, which will provide more opportunities for the development of all countries in the world, including the United States. The Consulate General has always actively implemented the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and the United States, and is committed to deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the Midwest of the United States, enhancing friendly exchanges between the people of the two countries, and promoting the steady and long-term development of the China-U.S. relations.
