The 4th Chinese Short Video Competition: 

My Story with China

The Consulate General of The People's Republic of China in Chicago would like to invite American friends from Mid-Western U.S. especially the young people to participate in the 4th Chinese Short Video Competition. All participants are welcome to submit a short video on one of the two themes: “My trip to China” and “Exploring the Future World with Chinese Youth”. You can tell us the story of your recent trips to China and in-person communications with Chinese youth. Or, you can present us your exploration for the future world with Chinese youth, share your prospective and creative vision for the future regarding technology development, environment protection and so on. The language of the short video can be Chinese or English.

I. Schedule

Time for submission: October 1 to October 30, 2024

Time for evaluation: November 10 to November 30, 2024

Announcement of results: December 10, 2024

Award distribution: After December 10, 2024

II. Participants

Residents in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, especially the K-12 and university students.

III. Video Format

The short video should be no more than 5 minutes. The resolution of the videos should be no less than 1280×720, and the format should be MP4, recorded in landscape mode.

IV. Awards Setting

There will be 20 Outstanding Video Awards.

All Participants who have submitted a video with satisfactory quality will receive a souvenir.

The results of the competition will be announced on December 10, 2024 on X @ChinaConsulateChicago as well as on the official website of the Consulate. The awarded videos would be displayed on X and other media platforms operated or recommended by the Consulate.

V. Submission

The participants should complete the attached registration form, sign the authorization agreement, scan both files into PDF format, and send them together with the video in a compressed file to:

VI. Others

The Consulate reserves the right of final interpretation of this competition.
