Chinese Consulate General in Chicago Attended Overseas Chinese Community's Celebration of 76th Anniversary of Founding of PRC

On September 28, Chinese American Association at Greater Chicago and “Two Associations” jointly held a flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Consul General Wang Baodong, Deputy Consul General Zhang Yiqi, representatives of major local Chinese associations and relevant American dignitaries were present at the event.

In his speech, Consul General Wang introduced the new achievements of Chinese path to modernization and current China-U.S. relations. He emphasized that China, facing a changing world, demonstrates its responsibility of the times and is determined to be a force for peace, stability and progress in the world, working with all countries to build a community with a shared future for humanity. He emphasized that China and the U.S. should adhere to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation to promote the stable and healthy development of China-U.S. relations. He hoped that the overseas Chinese community in the consular district will continue to carry forward the spirit of unity and cooperation and make more contributions to promoting the positive development of China-U.S. relations and helping the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

On the same day, the overseas Chinese community also held a National Day banquet. Local overseas Chinese groups performed wonderful cultural programs and extended their best wishes to the motherland on its 76th birthday.
