Consul General Wang Baodong Delivered Remarks at the 20th Edgar Snow Symposium
On October 13, Chinese Consul General in Chicago Wang Baodong delivered remarks via video link at the 20th Edgar Snow Symposium.

Consul General Wang noted that nearly 90 years ago, Mr. Snow broke through numerous blockades to reach Yan’an, the sacred land of the Chinese Revolution. He wrote the book “Red Star Over China,” presenting the true image of the Communist Party of China to the world. He devoted his life to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and the U.S., and the Chinese people will always remember his contributions.
Consul General Wang stated that by commemorating Edgar Snow, we also reflect collectively on the journey the Communist Party of China has traveled, present a true and amiable image of China, and forward and promote the original aspiration of establishing China-U.S. diplomatic relations. We hope that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, more “Edgar Snows of this new era” emerge from the American people, writing a new chapter for China-U.S. Relations.

The symposium was jointly organized by Zhengzhou University, the Edgar Snow Memorial Foundation, and the Former China Society for People’s Friendship Studies. Nearly 100 representatives from various sectors in Henan Province and the State of Missouri, Edgar Snow’s hometown, attended.
