Consul General Wang Baodong Visited Chinese Associations in Chicago Congratulating on Chinese New Year of the Horse to Chinese Community

On January 20th, 22nd, and 23rd, Consul General Wang Baodong and his delegation braved the extremely cold weather in Chicago to visit and extend Chinese New Year greetings to 37 overseas Chinese associations, welcoming the Year of the Horse with the local Chinese community.

Consul General Wang extended New Year greetings and best wishes to the overseas Chinese community, introducing the achievements of China's modernization drive over the past year, the latest developments in China-U.S. relations including the summit meeting between the two heads of states in Busan, and China's principled position on the Taiwan issue. He also shared his optimistic outlook on to the bright prospects of China's implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan and its economic and social development in the new year. He thanked the local Chinese community for their active support of the motherland's nation building and development and the great cause of national rejuvenation, and expressed his hope that they would carry forward the spirit of the dragon and the horse, continue to firmly support China's reunification, actively share excellent Chinese culture, resolutely safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and make greater contributions to promoting friendly exchanges between China and the U.S.

The local Chinese associations expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the warm care and support from the Consul General and their motherland, and pledged to continue making positive contributions to the great cause of national rejuvenation and the improvement of China-U.S. relations.
